Introducing the Multijet Glass Processing System by Waterjets Pty Ltd

Waterjet Cutting is nothing new in the glass industry. In fact, Waterjet machines have become a standard tool in a lot of glass processing factories around the world. The reason being is that they are fast at cutting, with minimum setup time per panel.

The main drawback to standard "XY Table" Waterjet Machines is they can only cut, so other processes such as arrising must be carried out before the glass can be tempered.

Another drawback to "XY Table" Waterjet Machines is that they tend to leave "Blast Back" marks on the underside of the glass from when the jet crosses over the supports. For this reason, either the glass must have a protective film on the back of it during processing, or some protective material must be placed between the glass and the metal supports of the XY table.

To solve the above issues, Waterjets Pty Ltd has been hard at work to come up with an elegent solution. We are proud to annouce the Multijet Glass Processing System. The Multijet is the result of more than 5 years of research and development by Waterjets Pty Ltd. It solves the main problems inherent to traditional waterjet systems when used for processing glass. Instead of the glass sitting on a stationary table and the cutting head moving on an XY Plane, the glass moves along the X Axis, and the cutting head moves along the Y Axis. The Multijet also incorperates a spindle capable of arrising the glass automatically, and "Blast Back" is never a problem due to the fact that there are no supports along the line that the cutting head moves. The Catchment Tank is also a lot smaller, so with the Garnet Removal System, there is minimal down time for tank cleaning as there is with traditional machines.
